- Is teeth whitening safe?
- When it’s done properly, yes. Sarah is a Registered Dental Hygienist: she checks your teeth and gums first, protects your gums during whitening, and will tell you honestly if whitening isn’t right for you yet.
- What happens on the video call?
- It’s 5–10 minutes on your phone. Sarah takes a look at your teeth and gums, hears what you want to change, answers your questions, and tells you honestly what to expect.
- Do I need a cleaning first?
- Maybe. Whitening works best on clean teeth. If Sarah sees plaque or tartar on your video call, she sets up a cleaning before you whiten, included at no extra cost.
- Does whitening hurt?
- It shouldn’t. Some people feel temporary sensitivity during or after whitening. Sarah adjusts as she goes and can recommend products that keep you comfortable.
- How long do results last?
- It depends on your habits. Coffee, tea, red wine and tobacco all stain over time. With good care and the occasional touch-up, results usually last a long while.
- Will it whiten crowns, veneers or fillings?
- No. Whitening only works on natural enamel. If you have dental work on your front teeth, Sarah will talk you through how to get an even result before you start.
- Who shouldn’t whiten?
- Whitening isn’t recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, for children, or if you have untreated cavities or gum problems. If something comes up during your video check, Sarah will tell you honestly.
- Why see a hygienist instead of using strips?
- Professional-grade whitening goes further and more evenly, your gums are protected, and someone trained is watching for sensitivity. You also get an honest opinion on what’s realistic for your teeth.
